DIPALICIOUS NAILS

WHAT IS DIP POWDER?

Dip powder is an acrylic nail enhancement that makes nails strong like traditional acrylic and shiny like gel.  With quality dip liquids, dip powder manicures require no UV lights to cure, dry almost instantly and can last up to 2-3 weeks.

New to Dipping? These are easy enough to apply yourself or have your favorite nail tech apply them for you! All you need is Dip Base Coat to adhere the Dip PowderDip Activator to cure and harden the base and top coat, Dip Top Coat for that shiny finish (or use the 2in1 dip base as top coat), Cuticle Pusher/Remover to clean the nail,  a Nail File/Buffer for shaping and a Manicure Stick for clean ups.  Or try one of the Starter Kits!  A little practice with Application and you’ll be ready to have fabulous nails!

I'm always adding new colors to the shop, so check back often.
Thanks for shopping DPLN!

DIP POWDER APPLICATION

1. Apply Prep or isopropyl alcohol to dry sanitized nails and let dry.  Then, apply an even layer of Dip Base & Top Coat and dip nail into powder. Tap off excess powder from nail, cleaning around cuticles as needed. Continue to the next finger. Repeat for 2-3 coats on each nail.

2. Apply a final coat of Dip Base & Top Coat to seal in and protect the color (optional, but recommended).

3. Apply Activator, wait 2 minutes, then shape and buff nails as needed.

4. Apply a second coat of Activator, wait 2 minutes and wipe well.

5. Using quick light strokes, apply Dip Base & Top Coat or Easy Dip Top Coat on all the nails.  Repeat for 2-3 layers until the surface stays smooth and shiny allowing 30-60 seconds to dry between each layer. Do not over brush, this could cause matte spots.

6. Let dry for 3 minutes and moisturize with cuticle oil.

PRO TIPS

Liquid Care: Store liquids upright and away from light. Tap excess powder from nails to prevent over contamination. For thickened liquids, Dipalicious Nails Brush Saver can help restore liquids to regular consistency. Just use 1 drop at a time as needed.

Brush Care: Use Dipalicious Nails Brush Saver to clean brushes, remove hardened bits and soften bristles. Simply place the used brush in Brush Saver and let it soak until it softens. May require overnight soaking.  Do not pull at the bristles.

Bottle Care: After each use, wipe the bottle neck with 100% acetone and cuticle oil to prevent buildup and to keep the lid from gluing shut.

Cuticle Care: For best application, place the liquid at the center of the nail first, then continue applying from the cuticle area to the free edge. Use a manicure stick to clean up the cuticle line after dipping if needed. Keep your skin moisturized between mani changes with quality cuticle oil.

Encapsulating Glitter & Nail Art: Use 2 to 3 extra layers of base coat (in step 2) after your last dip to encapsulate glitter allowing one minute to set between layers. Then proceed with activator. You can also use clear dip powder as your final layer of dip to encapsulate the glitter. This is especially recommended for chunkier glitter and thicker nail art pieces.

DIP POWDER REMOVAL

1. File off the top layer of the nail enhancement.

2. Soak the nails in 100% acetone.

3. Rub the nails against a lint free wipe or paper towel to remove softened dip while soaking.  Give stubborn dip extra help by filing off softened layers between soaks.

4. Repeat steps 2-4 until the dip powder is soaked off completely.

QUICK REMOVAL: Place acetone in a leak proof baggie lined with paper towel and rest the bag in warm water or rice while soaking.  Soak about 10 minutes.

*Do not pull or peel off your dip.  It will cause damage to the natural nail.

WHAT IS CHROME?

Chrome is a type of nail art pigment that comes in powder or flake form.  When rubbed over No Wipe Gel Top Coat or gel-like regular polish, it creates a smooth liquid look on the nails.  Chromes can come in metallic, mirror or color shifting finishes.  You can even use most satin dip powders as chrome rubs.  A little bit goes a long way!

CHROME DUST & FLAKES APPLICATION

…With Regular Polish Top Coat...

1. Follow usual dip steps up to the first activator, then shape and buff the nails as needed.

2. Apply a layer of regular air dry Top Coat and allow to dry to the touch (about 51-3 minutes depending on your polish).

*If you have issues with peeling or chipping, apply a layer of regular Base Coat and let dry fully before applying top coat.

3. For a chrome finish, rub Dust or Flakes with an eyeshadow sponge in smooth swipes or circles. For a textured look, press Flakes onto surface.  Dust off the excess.  Apply more if needed to get desired coverage.

4. Apply a layer of Water Base Top Coat or No Smudge Top Coat and allow to air dry completely to seal in the finish (about 3 minutes).

5. Finish with a layer of regular air dry Top Coat (or matte top coat) to make it last and air dry fully for about 5 minutes.

…With No Wipe Gel Top Coat...

1. Follow usual dip steps up to the first activator, then shape and buff the nails as needed.

2. Apply a layer of No Wipe Gel Top Coat and cure until surface is smooth and barely tacky.  About 30-60 seconds depending on the lamp and gels used.

*If you have issues with gel peeling or chipping, apply a layer of Gel Base Coat and fully cure before applying no wipe top coat.

3. For a chrome finish, rub Dust or Flakes with an eyeshadow sponge in smooth swipes or circles. For a textured look, press Flakes onto surface.  Dust off the excess.  Apply more if needed to get desired coverage.

4. Apply another layer of No Wipe Gel Top Coat (or matte gel top coat) to seal in the finish and fully cure for 30-60 seconds (depending on your gel and lamp).
